Greetings Blog Land... coming to you live from Sweet Home Alabama!

KT had to be in Birmingham for the week on business and just couldn't stand to NOT be with Carson on his actual birthday, Tuesday. So, we came along for the work week... one big happy family! I'll admit, if I had my choice of 100 US destinations to visit, Birmingham likely wouldn't make the cut. But, as Kevin assured me before we booked our flights, and then confirmed after we checked into our hotel and drove around town-- it's actually quite nice. I think we'll enjoy our week here. I've already googled Birmingham cupcake locales, there's a Saks within minutes... a Target too... it's got the potential to be a nice lil getaway! Can't hurt that every restaurant in town serves Sweet Tea. Can I get an Amen?!

Here's a few photos of our travel this afternoon. Carson fell asleep shortly after the flight took off, just before "snacks" arrived.

He slept, laid across mine & Kevin's laps the whole trip. As we were walking off the plane, he popped his sweet little head up, looked at me and said... "I want snack."

Okay, this is the funniest thing in our life right now. Carson cannot "oink"-- when we ask him what a piggy says, he closes his eyes, tries to scrunch up his nose into a snout, and sucks in air like an oink but nothing comes out. Until now. Still no oink... but now he closes his eyes, scrunches his nose, and says honk, honk! We are so bad. We ask him ten thousand times in a row "what a piggy says" and laugh hysterically each time he obliges us with a response.

Hope you all have a wonderful week... it's actually FALL here in Birmingham, so nice to be able to bundle up and enjoy the season. We can't wait for this coming weekend... Carson's 2nd Birthday Party! Should be a great time celebrating our precious son's second year of life.
